About the Job:
The Sterling OMS Developer will play a key role in the design, development, and enhancement of enterprise order management capabilities built on IBM Sterling Order Management on Cloud (OMoC) v10.xx. This role combines deep technical expertise with hands-on configuration and development experience to ensure scalable, efficient, and reliable order management functionality across omni-channel retail ecosystem. The Lead Developer will partner with the Project Management team to align technical execution with delivery timelines and will collaborate closely with vendor development teams to ensure adherence to best practices, performance standards, and architectural principles.

Design, configure, and enhance solutions within IBM Sterling OMS on Cloud (OMoC) v10.xx, supporting order orchestration, fulfillment, and inventory management.
Develop and customize components within OMS to meet business and integration requirements.
Utilize Self Service capabilities for deployment, application monitoring, queue management, and performance optimization.
Manage and configure environments using Sterling Application Manager (SMA) for deployment and configuration management.
Leverage Sterling Business Center (SBC), Order Hub, Sterling Store, and Sterling Call Center tools for configuration, troubleshooting, and enhancement activities.
Collaborate with integration teams using Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) and other middleware platforms to ensure seamless communication between OMS, e-commerce, and ERP systems.
Review vendor-delivered code, configurations, and documentation to ensure alignment with technical and security standards.
Partner with Project Management to align development activities with sprint cycles, release plans, and deployment schedules.
Support troubleshooting, defect resolution, and root cause analysis across multiple environments.
Maintain source code, configuration management, and release process documentation, ensuring traceability and version control.
Participate in technical design discussions and provide input on system architecture and performance improvements.
Mentor vendor and partner developers, promoting best practices for OMS customization and extension.
Use discretion and independent judgment in daily decisions while maintaining a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
Actively participate in learning initiatives offered such as training programs, workshops, and webinars. Leverage these opportunities to acquire new knowledge, refine existing skills, and stay current on the latest developments.

Essential Qualities For Success

5–7 years of hands-on experience in IBM Sterling Order Management on Cloud (OMoC) v10.xx development and configuration.
Proficiency in using Self Service tools for deployment, queue management, and system monitoring.
Strong experience with Sterling Application Manager (SMA) for environment and configuration management.
Hands-on experience with Sterling Business Center (SBC), Sterling Store, Sterling Call Center, and Order Hub for order lifecycle and fulfillment operations.
Deep understanding of order orchestration, fulfillment flows, and inventory visibility within omni-channel retail environments.
Familiarity with code management, release coordination, and CI/CD processes in cloud-based OMS environments.
Ability to design, configure, and customize OMS services, user exits, and extensions to support complex business logic.
Experience integrating OMS with e-commerce and ERP platforms using Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) or comparable middleware solutions.
Proven collaboration skills with internal IT, business stakeholders, and vendor development teams.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities, with a detail-oriented approach to system performance and reliability.
Effective communicator with the ability to translate technical details into clear, actionable insights.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey ideas, instructions, and information clearly and concisely.
Demonstrated ability to actively listen, ask relevant questions, and provide thorough and articulate responses.
