Build a Perfect Resume

Simple guidelines to build resume on your own.

  1. Choose a format: You can use a reverse-chronological layout, which lists your most recent experience first, and then previous roles.
  2. Add your contact information: This should be in the header.
  3. Write a summary: This is a two to three-sentence statement that describes your relevant skills, achievements, and experience.
  4. List your work experience: This should include your job title and years of experience, and a few of your most important achievements.
  5. List your skills: This should include your soft and hard skills.
  6. Include your education: This should be listed in a section.
  7. List any awards or accomplishments: This should include any awards and accomplishments you’ve received throughout your career.
  8. Add a declaration: This should include your name and date.

You can use a ready-made resume template to speed things up. You can also use white space, colors, or graphics to separate sections.
